She was born and raised in Japan, and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and PhD in Okayama, Japan. She also attended University of Pittsburgh and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, and completed specialty training in Periodontics. In addition, she was actively involved in research projects developing new bone fixation materials and periodontal immunotherapy systems. Her research has been published in scientific journals.
She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, The Greater Cleveland Dental Society, and American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Smith is board certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery.
She is dedicated to providing excellent periodontal care in prevention and treatment of gum diseases and rehabilitation of lost dentitions with implant therapy to improve her patients’ quality of life.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She lives with her husband Jeffrey and their son Ryan.
